Hi terri! Glad you are home safely!  Lots of rest, be as emotional as you like . . you are on your way to recovery.  Look forward to hear from you again once you are feeling up to it.

Welcome back hope all went well look forward to hearing about it take care x

Hi,New to this forum. Had for right knee last Thursday. Managed to get 91% bend on the Sunday, today struggling with bruised thigh behind knee and calf. Had to change prescription due to needing medication during the night to get sleep. Came home Monday after 5 days. Had left knee done 8years ago had 6 months of agony trying to get the bend but managed it. Exercise bike helped. This time open was different, same surgeon and feel much better already but trying to rush things so have to slow down. Dressing will get changed to-morrow and clips out next week. Been up and down stairs to many times to count as only bathroom is there. I am just 75 so hopefully this will now improve my standard of life.

Good luck to you Hazel.  Great bend x

Try to get plenty of rest look forward to hearing from you as you progress. I am now Two weeks post op and Thursday is the D day to have the staples out! It will be nice to be able to exercise without the restriction, also it will be first time of seeing the scar!!! Take care xLouise

Get lots of rest now that your home.

Well done Hazel. We are all cheering you on!

I m all gog, Caroline. I will be 81 when  I have my second knee fixed and I keep wondering if it isI really worthwhile at my age, Meanwhile, how are YOU getting on ? DO you live near enough to visit nd encourage your Mum?

Hi there Louise.  I am 5 weeks post TKR op and remember thinking that having the staples removed would be a bit painful and that my MS might make my leg spasm etc but I barely felt anything at all.  My leg did spasm but the Sister was prepared for it!!  I followed advice and use Bio Oil twice daily and my scar is looking  lovely.  Well not exactly beautiful but certainly pretty good!  It no longer resembles a leg of oven ready pork.  Take care of yourself and be patient.

Hi Camper, thank you for your post. I am well behind all as my bend and straight legs are not good I have really tried to do exercises but do not seem to get far. I am however walking for 5-10 minutes a day and really walk properly. I am hoping that this afternoon exercises will be better once the staples are gone. I will invest in the bio oil and give it a try. Good luck and take care x
