I’m really confused, what should I do ?

So i was reacently disagoned with hsv 1&2. its really heartbreaking for me and things just dont seem to add up. ive never had any symtoms of either and i know people can be asymtommatic. but heres a little history as to why i think things arent adding up. Back in jan 2020 i had unprotected sex and caught clamyidia . my symptoms were close to herpes and thats why i went directly to the doctor to get tested, a vaginal culture, urine and blood test was taken and i was later told i had clamyidia. i recieved azithromycin and within a week my symtoms were gone and i was fine. since then ive abstain from having sex. fast forawrd to now since july 2020 i got into a realtionship and my bf and we have been having sex orally and vagainal unprotected. he was having pain while urinating and some small bumps on his penis. so we immedialty went and got tested at the same time. we asked to be screened for all stds. Now our results came back and his results are all negative and mine are positive for hsv1and2. how is this possible ? if i have herpes wouldnt my bf have it too ? And i have no symtoms at all. i tried googling answers and i found out the herpes test actually just test for the antibody produced when u have a virus. which makes me wonder if i have another virus thats not herpes and is that my reason for positive result? i went and got tested again at the same doctor and my results are the same. Please Help im going crazy ?? sorry for the typo erros i was rushing.

i would say you’ve had herpes for a while and you’ve passed it into your boyfriend. Generally it takes 16 weeks for herpes to show in blood results and if you have just started having sex with each other than it hasn’t been long enough for the antibodies to show in his blood. He either needs to get the little bumps swabbed or get another blood test in 4 months. I would say when you got tested back in January that they didn’t test you for Herpes as they usually don’t unless you have the sores or tell them you have been exposed. If they did test you for it and it was negative than it could have been that you had caught it too recently to show at that time. You could have had both Chlamydia and Herpes at the same time as Chlamydia doesn’t usually have too many symptoms.
