im really worried this is a brain tumour

basically i get this on/off falling sensation had it for about a month now, also sometimes (once every few days) get dizzy spells, and headaches every now and then, also recently (the past week) ive been getting muscles twitches as well, but only when im relaxing, im so worried what this is

to add i also get like a pulsing feeling in my foot that makes my toe twitch at night

I'm sure the chances of a brain tumour are next to nothing. It could be anxiety, lack of hydration, hormones etc.

Go to the Drs to put you mind at rest.

I think anxiety can be responsible for many symptoms X

ive been recently but not since i got the twitching and dr said it was anxiety but it since the twitching im really worried again x

Hi Charlotte I suffer with health anxiety & I also get the same as what you are experiencing when this first happened to me I took myself to a&e convinced I had a brain tumour. They did facial exercises with me that test for suspected brain tumour I was told it wasn't a tumour & just my anxiety also I get chronic tension headaches where it feels as if someone is squeezing my temple. If what im saying to you isn't enough reassurance then maybe just bring it up with your doctor. I still panic now even tho I know what it is. Xx

thankyou, do you get muscle twitches to, its so horrible xx

What you're describing could be symptoms of many things other than a brain tumour.

You might have a slight inner ear infection, or even Meniers disease. These symptoms could also be anxiety related. It certainly sounds as if the symptoms are making you feel anxious.

When you weigh up the odds, the chances are very much in your favour that you don't have a brain tumour.

The best thing you can do is make an appointment with a GP. Do it right now. I'm sure you are anxious, but unless you are almost certain that these symptoms are just going to go away (and it doesn't sound like thats how you feel) then you know that you are going to have to see a doctor sooner or later.

Its much better to do it sooner. You will probably be given peace of mind and be told this isn't a tumour and you may be told what it is and be prescribed a course of treatment.

But you need to grab the bull by the horns and see your doctor. I know it's easy to say try not to worry. Try not to think the worst.

Your GP will be able to help you.

I do get muscle twitches mostly at night when im in bed & trying to sleep that's when it starts. I'm constantly checking my heart rate to see if it isn't goin to fast. I wish there was a cure for anxiety xx

thankyou, ive been to the gp, and they have just put it down to anxiety but they didnt do any tests, they did look in my ears, but other than that they just said its anxiety xx

yeah , i sometimes get them in my back and neck to , is that normal?xx

It is an inbuilt fear we have often as teenagers. Fear of falling is like a fear of failute.

sorry failure.

Anxiety can affect any part of the body so I'd say that it was normal. Sometimes I get that tense my neck aches & all in my shoulders. Xx

yeah its horrible and every time you manage to convince yourself its anxiety something strikes again and your back to square one xx

Dizzy spells and headaches could well be Anxiety / Blood Pressure and Blood Glucose. But certainly get it all checked out.  Once you are clear - then you can start working on the Anxiety issue.

I'm sorry your GP wasn't more helpful. Telling you that you have anxiety and then dismissing you is lazy on their part. They should have discussed your circumstances and then decided on an appropriate course of treatment, whether that be medication or a referral to a counsellor or psychologist.

This is something I feel very strongly about, I feel that too many doctors don't understand the crippling effect severe anxiety can have on a person.

I have horrible anxiety, when a doctor tells a patient "it's just anxiety" it's so dismissive and can make the patient feel worse. As if anxiety isn't a big deal and that complaining or seeking help about anxiety displays some kind of character defect.

Im just glad that I have found this forum, where there are people who understand how devastating anxiety can be.

Someone suggested I look into hypnosis, which I am going to do. As I haven't had hypnosis yet I obviously can't reccomend it. But I can tell you it came highly recommended by more than one person. It might be something worth looking into.

I really hope you find some relief soon.
