ive been suffering now for years and i genuinly think i am dying. i must have been to the dr around 10 times this year and got the all clear. I feel dazed and that I am genuinely going to die. Although I still eat well and can excerise very well too. I have constant worry about death and all other aspects. Lumps on my neck , already been diagnosed as shorty nodes becasue of my acne. Worry about my heart constantly. Pain down my groin , instantly think I have testicular cancer. I have a feeling I am not here, dazed and lost. I’m 21 and can’t go on like this ! Is there somthing I can do to stop feeling like this all the time? Please help me ! I’ve been posting on here for years thinking somthing is wrong ! Please tell me somone else feels like this ? Dazed and lost , feeling of going to die ! Help
I am sorry you are going through this. this is long but I wanted to help you a little.
I have been there and it also started in my 20s. But please try to remember that 99.9 % of the things we worry about actually never happen. people get all sorts of aches and pains here and there pretty much all of which are nothing serious. I wasted many years of my life with worry thinking I had a serious condition when in fact nothing was wrong. I would not like to know that you are doing the same thing because it’s a complete waste of your life to worry. It does absolutely no good. and you can’t get back one day. It’s gone.
what happens is that we allow fear to take over our mind. It’s a choice. It becomes embedded in our brain and it ends up being the automatic place our thought goes. But it doesn’t have to be that way.
you need to first of all, fact check
- you have been to the doctor 10 times and everything comes out normal
- you have been posting on this site for years. If something was seriously wrong, you would know it by now because you’d be very ill
3.you are showing classic signs of severe anxiety, namely health anxiety and stress. Those conditions cause negative and fearful thoughts. They also are capable of giving you symptoms that mimic health conditions. anxiety can cause aches, pains, tight muscles, and hundreds of other symptoms.
4.you are young, 21, you exercise and eat healthy
the feeling of dazed, lost and not here are classic symptoms of de realization or depersonalization which is extremely common with acute stress and anxiety. It is not harmful. It is your brain’s way of shutting out the world that is causing you stress. It’s trying to protect you. I know how weird it feels but that’s all it is.
You are not dying! And you need to stop telling yourself that because your brain will pick up on it and give you even more symptoms .
is there a way that you can speak with a counselor? You really need some support right now and they are great with that! They see this every single day and know how to help you manage better. I highly suggest that.
i have had your symptoms many many times and like I said it started in my 20s when I was under a lot of stress and I am now in my 50s i’m doing very well. so I want you to know that you can turn this around and feel a lot better!
i had to learn to let the negative thoughts go as all they were going up in the air and dissolving and then focus on only positive things. I had to also keep busy. You have to be relentless. There is a lot of material out there to help you with this. A book that helped me a lot is called finding quiet. Another one is called mindfulness. But start with the counselor because this is difficult to do alone.The more you get stressed out about your health, the more symptoms you will have.
I completely let it all go , symptoms or not, I went about my life without that fear. I am a person of faith, so I let it all go to God to handle for me. Eventually, I was able to manage it better through that and counseling and my determination.
you have a long life ahead of you, you will look back one day like I did and be grateful. you ARE ok, please don’t live in misery because you can get help for this .
