Implant failure

Hi peeps has anyone suffered an implant failure after around 18 months post op getting some really weird pains and burning sensations? I'm 37 and quite active maybe I'm over doing it or something any help/ tips appreciated.

cheers kev

What is the name of the thr manufacturer. I had revision don't experienced implant recall.

There should be a revision scheduled if the implant has failed. Where has it failed. Joint area ? loosened stem ?or femor implant ? or ball joint?

Dear Kevin

I'm sorry that you are having concerns this long after your hip surgery. Can you tell us as much as possible because without more information I doubt if anyone will be able to suggest anything.

Best wishes, Richard

Hi Kevin my advice would be to ice it and be as gentle as you can until you can get an xray to check it out, its probably that u have maybe been doing too much and didn't realise it.

You have a great Christmas and see doc as soon as possible

For 18 months I have had the perfect recovery been able to do everything and have great range of motion and had hardly any pain. It's not that painful now to be honest just feels weird inside hard to explain. usually when I bend at the hip or lie still For a while

After all this amount of time and the fact that you have been fine up until now I would certainly check it out. That's pretty frightening,, I'm only 7 mths on but believe I will never feel the same again but I force myself into doing exercises.
