Hi, I currently have the contraceptive implant which is the 4th one I've had. It is the same one as the previous 2. With all 3 previous implants I have not had any periods. I had it changed the beginning of the year and have had the odd period. This last month I have been spotting almost daily. I went for a smear test and the nurse said that it was unusual and the implant should have settled down by now but didn't say what it could be. I was thinking of going the doctors tomorrow. I had lower right back pain for 1 day but that has settled. I have also had a headache on one side most days. Has anyone got any ideas what could be causing this? Thanks
The implant instructions state that it is normal for 2-3 months after implant placement to experience headache, irregular menstruation and bleeding during this. But nausea and back pain are already abnormal, the implant could be positioned incorrectly causing such symptoms. I advise you to see a doctor.
