Going to take my pred 17.5 early in morning to help function a hour or so later. Crushed my elbow 30 years ago and it is really painful with my wrists tell pred kicks in. Anyone else with these issues.
Has anyone considered it might be carpal tunnel syndrome?
I would try taking perhaps 7.5mg of the daily dose in the evening, so that you will wake up with less symptoms.
Waiting for a morning dose of pred to reach full effectiveness will take several hours!
I take my entire low dose of pred at 6pm each day and am good to go in the morning.
What dose are you taking Dan?
I'm down to 1.75mg now, still with a manageable level of symptoms as before, but with fewer different symptoms than before.
I started taking my full dosage in the evening last year, when I was at 5mg/day. Before that, i was splitting it.
I am sure it is some degree of carpal tunnel. Seems that old injuries and present conditions are magnified with my PMR hope I can manage pain and prednisone. Thanks Woodrow
I hope to be down to a low dose as well. Sounds like a option to split the dose. I still am active but hard to function when your hands are numb in the morning. Still biking and paddlesurfing but getting heavier and weeker. Thanks for your input.
I have carpal tunnel symptoms in both hands & wrists along with PR (numbness, tingling, weakness, acheyness), which is apparently not unheard of but rare. The right hand is particularly bad; even after taking prednisone it is never symptom free. However, it does seem a little better now than at first. I've had this about 4 months now and am now on 10 mg of prednisone. So hang in there, hopefully your symptoms will gradually decrease as well.
Thanks for sharing still learning about PMR and it moving to wrists and elbow.
