I can't answer the question as to how long the second ob lasts but I can tell you that stress seems to make them worse. Are you taking any medication for it? If not please get some from your dr. Try your best to relax, salt baths seem to help a lot of people. I've read that some even use the creams that are used for cold sores with success, also Vaseline, Google tea bag usage as a soothing treatment. I used non fragrant sensitive baby wipes when I used the bathroom instead of toilet paper. Drink tons of water to dilute your urine. I'm here to help in any way I can
Also I've read that some use peroxide and it soothes it and helps to heal faster.

I know what you're going through and how you feel it will never end. I've been right where you are and I know the pain you feel. Try everything you can until you find what works best for you and if you can get meds that will help too.
