Hi I am three weeks po anterior hip replacement. My incision is healing nicely but it has alot of bumps on it and does not look good, is this a normal part of healing and does it go flat? I know its not an infection or anything. Does an incision eventually lay flat??
mine is indented 7 months post OP so hope yours flattens out rub bio oil in it it softens it xxx
HI there,
i’m one year on now and my scar never really flattened out, nor did it disappear to nothing using bio oil as other people gave. I’m rather disappointed as am still of an age where bikinis are worn. But such is life. i do hope yours flattens out.
best wishes
lucy
I have both hips replaced in 2018/2019
with second one I took collagen and HA caps the difference is amazing ![]()
I have had two hip replacements. The older scar is now minimal (almost two years old) and the one year old scar is still quite significant. I’m not sure that those indentations will ever go away.
I had mine in 2010, I do still have an indentation in it, it must be the way it was stitched,I would recommend that you use bio oil on the scar it makes a huge difference , the bumps should even out once all the swelling goes down its early days yet for you,
