Hi. My doctor wants me to increase Fluoxetine from 10 to 20 mg. Says that is a more appropriate dose for me. I'm petrified but it can't be any worse than the insomnia and anxiety I'm experiencing. Please someone tell me they have increased with no problems and felt better!

Hi, 20mg fluoxetine is the most common dose. I take 20mg but it is a bit too strong for me, and 10mg is not strong enough.
There are two other drugs called fluvoxamine and paroxetine which can also help with anxiety and insomnia.
20mg Paroxetine is equivalent to 13.5mg of Fluoxetine but they don't normally prescribe it to anyone under 25 if they they have depression.
