Increase in Blood Pressure & Pantaprozole

Hi, has anyone had a sudden increase in blood pressure while taking Pantaprozole? I've been on 2.5mg Ramipril for 10 years with steady BP of 115/72, and now 6 months after starting Pantaprozole, my BP has gone up to 160/100 accompanied by increased pulse and pain in lower legs & back.

That's interesting as I have never associated my hypertension with the drug and its not listed under the myriad of side effects. It can certainly cause joint pain and in the  long term Osteoporosis.

No issues at the moment but then I've only been on them for couple of weeks.

The 2 issues I have at the moment are,

 Mega ANXIETY as in every day,

STOMACH lower CRAMPS now and then.

Does anyone get CRAMP in the legs while on RAMIPRIL

Hi my assumption is that your not UK ask to be taken off of it and put on ranitidin, its much gentler on the system and possibly only needed as and when depending on the reason for the problem

Thanks for the replies. I stopped taking Pantoprazole 3 days ago, some mild acid reflux so far, but the pain in my calves has virtually gone. I still have back pain so will monitor it and will check my blood pressure at the gp’s tomorrow (although with an increase in Ramipril dosage, it should come down).
