Hi I have been on 50mg of sertraline for 3 years.Recently I started to have panic attacks where I have a warming sensation from my tummy up to my chest.My gp has increased my dosage to 100mg how long will it take to take effect.

Hi Cheryl, it can take a few weeks to start taking affect. Everyone is different and you may get side affects. I did get them but once the dose starting taking affect I started to feel a little better. These meds take time to work but when they do work you will start to feel better. Keep reminding yourself that things will get better. I still have a few down moments but nothing like before. Keep your head up. X
