So about 4 am Tuesday morning ( 2 days ago) I woke up with dull pain across my abdomen which at about 9 am localized to my right side. I had other symptoms of lack of appetite, nausea, less frequent urination and chills.I did not experience any vomiting. This continued and the pain increased so I went to the hospital. There blood tests and urine tests showed no infection and I was diagnosed with an ovarian cyst by a physical examination.Advised to take ibuprofen for the pain. That was 24 hrs ago and since then the pain has gotten worse and extended to a large portion of my mid to lower right back. Finding it more difficult to urinate and have not passed a stool since yesterday 2 pm. Should I be concerned?
Hi sophie00895
Yes you should be concerned if you can't pass urine and the pain is worse. If it were me i would take myself to A & E. Also ask for a CA125 blood test to check that the ovarian cyst is benign...
Go back your doctor. Ask to see a gynaecologist who can do a pelvic ultrasound to examine your uterus and ovaries. The ultrasound should show how big the cyst is.
I think you need stool test for Calprotectin levels which shows if there is any inflammation in GL tract
