hi ive always had upper back pain, but since I had a very violent stomach bug, when I vomited for 7 hours, which hurt my back, - it has been hurting even more. its right down the middle of my back, and causing indigestion, Im getting very stressed about it, and worried. has anyone else had these symptoms?
Ho Claire, I suspect the acid in your digestive system has damaged your esophagus which is causing the indigestion. You need an antacid to line the esophagus and allow it to heal. I suspect you have strained muscles in your back when vomiting so violently. You should see your doctor though to make sure. Good luck. D
Hi claire659
It sounds like you have pulled/aggravated the muscle/tissue.
All that I can suggest is either paracetamol or an anti-inflammatory for pain relief. Due to not knowing what medication you are talking at the moment.
As for the indigestion, as I tell most people is put a couple of drops of mint extract in a cup with 10ml of hot water and drink it as hot as you can tolerate it.
I hope these ideas help and hope that you feel better soon.
I just remembered Claire that some painkillers/anti-inflammatory pills van aggravate the lining of the esophagus so please get the advice of your doc/pharmacist. D
Thanks dianne for your reply, I think that it might be an old rib injury that may of been aggrivated, Im going to see how things go in the next few weeks thanks x
Hi mark- ive been advised to take a probiotic for the indigestion,? normal antacids are not helping, some days im ok, others im constantly burping, and its making me anxious, thanks for your advice x
Your welcome claire659. There is several treatments and remedies and it is a matter of finding the right one.
The mint extract will help with burping and trapped wind. But I would always recommend that you seek advice before using said item, mainly because of other treatment/s that you may be taking at the time.
In saying that I would like to take this time to wish you well and good health.
