Indigestion type symptoms

Hi all, I'm hoping someone has similar symptoms that can point me in the right direction. I've had increased heartburn symptoms for about a year now but over the last few weeks it's got worse. I get bouts of nausea, the need to burp, a noisy rumbling tummy, a loss of appetite and sometimes massive hunger pangs even if I've just eaten, sometimes bloated, aching in my lower flank area on both sides, tenderness in the upper centre of my abdomen between ribs, sometimes pain in my upper left abdomen, the feeling of being completely full even hours after eating it feels like a big lump sitting under my ribs and extreme fatigue. I have also lost about half a stone. I also sometimes feel like i have something stuck in my throat, like when a tablet doesn't go down properly. My GP has me on omeprazole that I have had to increase to twice a day and it's not helping - although I am burping more. Any ideas? (Sorry for the length of the post 😬)

Hi,
your symptoms are exactly similar to mine.
I’ve been having this discomfort in the centre of my chest below my ribs for two months now. like something is stuck there and it gets worse when I slouch. increased heartburn and occasional nausea and upper left abdominal pain.
also I’ve been burping like crazy. morning headaches too.
my gp put me on pantoprazole and it helped with the heartburn but the abdominal pain didn’t subside. the medicines don’t seem to working much and the symptoms make me go crazy sometimes.
apparently, it’s GERD and it can take quite a long time to settle down if not handled properly.
I’m still struggling with this but I can confirm that stress makes it worse.
also avoid having spicy, greasy and acidic foods. have lots of water. manage the stress (hardest part imao)
I’m planning on visiting a GI specialist soon to get anything else ruled out.
currently, I’m on omeprazole
I’m just hoping that this will clear up within a few months.

Ah, I wondered if that was what it was. I’m not sure whether to phone the doc or not, maybe there’s another tablet I could try. Thanks for the response :slightly_smiling_face:
