I have had endometriosis for years and had lots of different treatments. For the last couple of years I have been getting the injections backed with HRT. This has been great, no problems from them both at all. But over the last few months I feel as though I have had some cramps and niggles. My stomach is very swollen and I have gained weight. Could this be my endometriosis ? I don't think so as I haven't had bother up until recently. I am a bit confused, can someone tell me if they have had any experience of this?

Hi, are you having the injections that create a false menopause?
I found that the feed back HRT reduced the effect of the Zoladex injections and allowed the endo to continue growing, just at a slower rate and I had all the normal pain, just at a slightly lower level.
Good luck x
Yes I am. I hope it's not the case. That's all I need. Is there any way of finding out if that's what is the problem instead of getting another laparoscopy?

The way it was explained to me was, the false menopause is to stop you producing hormones and starve the endo of its 'fuel', the HRT just replaces the hormones you temporarily stop producing just at a lower level. Basically it defeats the object of the injections in the 1st place, but it does stop the menopausal symptoms. You should discuss it in detail with your consultant (not GP) but make a list of what you want to say before for go so you don't forget anything.
