late last week i picked at the gums of my lower front incisors too hard (i have pointy nails) and made a pretty nasty cut. started doing saltwater rinses, and now orajel mouthwash rinses, twice a day, along with very gentle brushing. i thought it was healing up, it became less red and the pain stopped, but this morning i noticed the gums are peeling away when i pull on my lower lip! it kind of looks like when dead skin falls off after you cut your skin elsewhere. it doesn’t hurt and there’s new red gums growing underneath it i think. has anyone heard of this happening before? i’m freaked out, and i don’t know if my dentists are seeing anyone yet because of the virus. my teeth are otherwise healthy and i have no history with gum disease.
