does anyone here suffer from a feeling of agitation. I have been diagnosed with agitated depression and given mirtazapine (after others failed). I cannot get dose up as it agitates even more. Gp thinks might be an idea to titrate down from 15 to see if i can manage on diazepam. Most people here have depression but i seem to have the agitation first, then a bit of depression and anxiety. Could the mirtaz be aggravating this.
Hi Ann, agitation is one of the less common side effects of Mert but is a side effect none the less. See how you get on on a lower dose.
I get very agitated with my anxiety and depression, can't sit still, pace up and down, hand wringing, fidgeting etc, in a world of my own all the time.
Its not a nice feeling. Neil
At last, someone who understands agitation. I am now on the quest to lower the mirt. And hope the agitation is not my illness but coming from that. Its a long route to get off it and i am feeling the anxiety already. Hoping lower dose will help.
i know what its like to pace wring hands etc. Feels awful. Hope yours will clear given time.
My anxiety became much worse and I too was very agitated on it, started at 30mg then a few weeks later was increased to 45mg which made it even worse again.
How long have you been taking it?
Taking for a couple of years now, did help agitation when dropped down but dr keeps trying to,put it up and i say it makes me worse, ended up on 7.5 but its really hard to come off. I just want riid of it and back to normal. Many differing views on this, worth pursuing.
