Hi I was woken in the night by my 24 day old knee, it had decided on its own to stretch? The whole leg seems to stretch out it is the most weird feeling. No warning it just happens. I am thinking that it is because of the healing process?? The muscles and nerves getting into there original places. Has anyone else had this?
I have had that since day 1 im now 6 months down the road and still have it today!

Hi Louise - had this experience with both a new hip nearly 2 years ago and now my new knee of10 weeks.Its as if the whole leg goes into an involuntary spasm which I sometimes dreaded cos could be bit painful. Glad to say it doesn't happen any more. I do think it must be part of the healing process as if your body is checking out its new status quo! Hope it passes for you soon x
I have that too - think its the body doing what it needs to do. Guess when we were 'normal' we used to stretch without realising. It doesnt happen every day only when I have had more than a few hours (rarely!) sleep without moving or when I have been on my side.
Oh yes, I now exactly what you mean! Mne has still done that occasionally even now ten weeks after the op! Not actually painful for me, just weird!
Yes absolutely from aabout week 5 and still going at 14 weeks although not so often. It gets less painful though! X
