Hello! I'm 29 yo female. I've always had irrgular periods all my life but would only miss maybe one month here or there. For about a year I finally had a regular period until about August 2019, after that period, I haven't had one until this week. I keep passing chunks of tissue or something. Like every hour I feel something and run to the bathroom and there will be very dark, almost black chunks in the bottom of the toilet. Last time it ended up on the toilet paper and it was very jiggly. I've only ever passed small clots before. These are around the size of a quarter. Been happening for two days now. Any ideas what it could be?? Maybe tissue since I haven't had my period in so long?? I cant get into the dr right now because of this pandemic. Any advice would help. Thanks!
It’s not uncommon to have clot like tissue amidst period blood. During our periods we are shedding our uterus lining, so sometimes it is partially “intact” when it leaves the body. Sometimes I have several clot-like pieces amidst my normal blood flow, other months I have none. Usually mine are red or fleshy color, but I’ve also had a couple dark colored months as well. I’m also an irregular-period sufferer, and I remember after a really long time without a period most of my bleeding was pretty dark. So there’s a good chance it’s just your body cleaning out all the old lining. That being said, if the chunks continue their hourly rate for multiple days you may want check with a doctor (especially if it’s throughout your whole menses), just to make sure there isn’t anything else behind it.
