I was recently diagnosed with genital herpes from being in a monogomous relationship at my end. The doctor has asked me to go back in 2 weeks.
Is this routine?
I have been reading a lot on the internet and this outbreak can be a sign of something far worse. Im thinking shes gonna deliver the bad news when the other test have been worked.

Did they take blood tests? Usually it’s routine to wait 2 weeks for the blood tests upon transmission. I wouldn’t freak out anymore since you’ve already been diagnosed. Relax, everything will be okay! Stress will only make an OB worse.

Did you have a full sti screen a the time the herpes was diagnosed?
If so the follow up appointment will be to give you the results and to check you are recovering from your first Herpes outbreak. If they swabbed the Herpes this should confirm the diagnosis and tell you which type you have, which is useful information. If you wern't recovering they might give you (more) antivirals.
You are understandabley nervous, but see it as an opportunity to learn more and ask questions
