Is anxiety causing my pain

This is freaking me out, whenever I'm laying down my arms feel like numb when I pick something up, I dont know how to describe it. Also while standing up and holding something I feel like soreness in my shoulders and I also feel the numbness a little bit in my arms too. Recently I've noticed that my calfs start to get tight a little bit.

Thank you

Hi,when a person is anxious a persons muscles usually tense up. Xx

Ok thank you but I feel this arm numbness feeling throughout the day

I'm sorry you're going through this, MR308. I have been experiencing tight/sore shoulder, left arm, and back (and even thighs of late). It scared me so much that I went to the ER. Got blood work and and EKG and docs found nothing abnormal, they think it's just anxiety. I know that anxiety can make muscles very tight, but it so scary to me nonetheless.

That's good that nothing is wrong, are you still having this feeling?

I am, and am trying (unsuccessfully) to ignore it. My anxiety is telling me the docs are wrong. That ever happen with you?

I feel like it is I haven't been to the doctors yet since I've been having the feeling since late July but most likely I'm scared of what the docs will say, I have noticed that I've been getting headaches too and I've been just testing my arms and legs strength wise because they are worrying me also my hands shake whenever I'm holding onto something while I'm sitting

While typing that right there I just got a pinching pain in the top of my right forearm

Hi!  Currently going through the same. I feel like a old woman at times because I find myself massaging my joints because my leg arm and knees hurt due to my anxiety. It just recently started happening too, scared me a bit. I still haven't found a fix. I've been trying to be more active and fight through it and when I'm distracted it tends to ease up. When I'm resting though, it flares up again. When the pain is too bad, I put a small ice pack (or something cold like a wet towel) to just help ease the pain a little. I haven't wanted to take meds for it because it's more of a sore pain than anything. Lately, my wrists are what's bothering me. I'm just hoping it passes and doing my best to get the vitamins I need and help my body battle my mind really. I wish you luck as well, hopefully we get through it soon enough

Thank you, I have also noticed my wrist sometimes hurt and my right ring finger twitches sometimes but I've tried to keep myself distracted so I hope once I go back to school everything will become normal

Same here. I'm back at school trying my best to not let my anxiety get to me during lectures. Have a good semester and good luck! We can pull through this 👍🏼
