I have decided after a year of feeling tired unmotivated and lerthargic too reduce my 50mg of Citalopram by cutting the tablet in half,Can anyone offer some feedback re withdrawal and opinions of the drug,I have had all relevant bloods taken and nothing showed up as too why i am feeling the way i am,Therefore i can only assume its the drug.
My memory concentration and emotions have all been affected,I can honestly say i feel like i am on another planet.
Don't do it. Talk to a Dr or pharmacist.
i was on citalopram for roughly a month but had to change over as i couldn t sleep on them i was stressed over it i just lay there chilling through the night but i was always tired by morning surprisingly i was full of energy most days and felt almost like superman i had no aches or pains i was kind of zoned out most of the time and nothing bothered me it was great ! but i didnt sleep for an entire month so i new there would be a price to pay at some point so took the decision to change , , didn t have any withdrawals except my mood went back to being irratable and angry at the slightest wee thing but i seem to be ok now ! hope you get on ok !
It is not easy sadly, and for me the side effects coming off were very similar to those I experienced when first prescribed citalopram, however, I was only on citalopram for 2 months, so my withdrawal I imagine was less severe than if you've been on the drug longterm.
Sadly I found citalopram to be a horrible and painful experience.
Panda there is a good forum about coming off Citalopram.
you should be better on a reduced dose as far as lethargy goes. Withdrawal may give you a temporary headache but that will disappear or may not happen. It varies from person to person.
