I had a possible exposure to hsv2 recently. During the first couple of days following the exposure I did a lot of touching of my genitals looking for symptoms (no symptoms were present). I remember rubbing my eyes shortly after touching my genitals.
Assuming I was infected, is it possible that I spread it to my eyes within those first few days whilst there were no visible symptoms? Basically, does hsv stay on the surface of the skin immediately after primary infection or does it travel to the nerves straight away making immediate reinfection not possible.
