I have been having severe stomach pain. Its always followed by a fatty meal. It occurs 1-3 hours after I eat. It feels my stomach is burning and its usually under my ribs and in the center of my stomach. Sometimes It feels like its my whole stomach. When I push down where my gallbladder is I get sick to my stomach. I also have alot of burping after eating, gas, and heartburn like symptons. Nothing seems to help the pain. It makes me vomit and dizzy. Blood work, ultrasound, CT scan came back fine. I do have a hida scan on wednesday. Also my back hurts with it on the right side
hi Summer,
It certainly seems you are getting some of the symptoms associated with a gallbladder attack. Sometimes people have these attacks due to a poorly functioning gallbladder and the hida scan will identify this. I had my gallbladder removed 7 weeks ago, but I had stones and some sludge in my gallbladder.
It sounds like you do not have too long to wait for the scan, and in the meantime I suggest you eat low fat foods and take buscopan - I found both of these things helped.
Best of luck, I hope you get to the bottom of what the problem is.
It does seem you are describing classic gallbladder symptoms … I put up with these types of symptoms for quite a few years, believing it to be bad indigestion and the pain in my back I put down to being on my feet for hours each day. As time went on though the pains became quite unbearable culminating in a night of feeling very sick indeed and then in the early hours vomiting a barely digested dinner of the night before. I went straight to my doctor who immediately guessed it to be gallbladder issues and set up a scan for me. It was a diseased gallbladder.
From the time of my initial visit to the doctor to my op I stuck to a VERY careful diet of either no fat or barely fat (quite difficult as so many things have fat in them). Drink plenty of water. Apple Cider vinegar was recommended to me, but I couldn’t hack it, but fortunately I found apple cider tablets which Holland and Barrett sell; I took these to help my liver as although I don’t drink alcohol at all, my liver was being adversely affected however, after I began taking these tablets my blood results showed really good results. Also drink plenty of water.
… be mindful of what you eat … Sending you very best wishes
