Is it normal to end up in the ER with Anxiety Attack after a car accident?

About a week after a car accident, I was just laying in bed about to go to sleep when suddenly I started having trouble breathing, tightness in chest, 100+bpm, high blood pressure (200/120)... so I dialed 911 and ended up being transported to the ER. A week later, I had another attack that was like 10x worse and ended up in ER again. So do you think this is normal reaction or was I overreacting? I honestly thought I was having a heart attack both times. Second one felt like a massive heart attack.

yes it is normal. Car accidents are very traumatizing. Have you had anxiety attacks before the car accident? If you have a history of them, then it’s not surprising it happened.
if you are constantly thinking about the accident, that could bring in increased anxiety and symptoms. Perhaps it would be a good idea to speak with a counselor about this who can help you get it under control.
GET A good checkup by your doctor and address the anxiety.

Having medical checkups following an auto accident is not only good for your health but is also beneficial for an insurance claim. Suggest you also consult a good attorney if you haven’t already.
