Hey
So I was wondering is it normal to have mixed feelings while weeing off cit..
I've dropped to 10mg from 20mg slowly over 3weeks bur I do feel a little anxious at time and nervous an sometime disconnected....
Is it normal to have these feelings while coming off and roughly how long will this last
Thanks
It is normal but if it becomes too much, call NHS direct, it is not easy reducing medication it takes a lot of hard work.
Hey Richard
So far it has been manageable.... I do feel much happier but I do definitely feel the physical symptoms of weeing off.... I do get tension either between my eyes or my neck an shoulder an seems to travel throughout the day from one to the other which Is annoying but I'm not gonna let it bring me down.... I'm just hoping it doesn't last long and I can move on from cit.
Good going Cheryl. I would assume that decreasing brings it's own issues as does the starting of the med. I took CIt about 8 years ago and felt a bit off for a few weeks during my decrease which was very gradual. I did feel a little anxious at times but it didn't last long. Good luck and don't feel under any pressure to decrease too fast. Stick with it until you have settled on the 10 mg and keep us posted as to how you are doing. Take care. Lee.
I'm 6 wks cit free after 5 years on it. Weaned myself from 20mg over 9 mths. I stayed on each level a min of 3 wks until I felt settled. The symptoms you have are normal for reduction/withdrawal.
If I had symptoms I'd stay on that dose a bit longer til I felt ok again. I'd got down to 5mg but had to go back to 10mg for 6 wks, then I cut down again.
my main withdrawal symptoms happened when I stopped altogether. My last dose was 5mg every 3rd day.
Yes.....it is completely normal to be moody, irritable, agitated.......sad.....all kinds of emotions creep or jump in while weaning and or going cold turkey.
Depending on how long you've been on the medicine usually determines how long you will suffer withdrawal.
every person is different.
It may seem like your depression is back.....or anxiety has come over you.....it most likely us a symptom of withdrawal.
they say it's good to taper very, very slowly. It will help to keep the withdrawal less intense.
