Hi i know this sounds really strange but could what we feel as heart palpitations actually be gas in the stomach moving up and down creating a sinking heart sensation? I seem to need to burp after any palpitations a rare few times i dnt but it seems strange that this occurs i also feel a strange vibration under my left boob/ ribcage during a palpitation. Anybody else experienced this?
Yes! I have this idea also. My cardiologist said it sounds like maybe I have a stomach problem because nothing is wrong with my heart. Hope one of us can figure it out.
I just think its strange how most of the time it feels as though something is moving about during the palpitations like trapped wind almost, does your heart rate increase and feel like its beating really hard until your stomach seems to settle down?? I had lots of ecgs, an echo, chest xray, bloods and 2 separate heart monitor recordings and nothing has shown for my heart, like no abnormalities etc just think its strange.
funny you should say that as sometimes my palps feel lower down i never thought of that and i do suffer from time to time with my stomach
Yes I get the vibrations and fluttering.. Wierd palpitations. It is anxiety but A lot of it can be gas by eating big meals or not chewing properly. So try chewing very slow and thoroughly and eat smaller meals and I'm sure that will help. When the body is in a state of severe stress.. It will send blood to more important areas so your digestive system won't work properly.
Also try supplementing with magnesium. It helps a lot with heart palpitations and anxiety.
