I've had a successful posterior repair . I suffer all sorts of strange feelings with anterior wall plus bulginess on and off . It's controlling my life I hate it plus I feel front wall pushing down when I cough it's awful . Who's had this completely resolved with anterior repair ? TIA X
Feel
It's now over 2 years since my prolapse operation and every day I have concerns - my GP was happy when I saw her a few months ago but I definitely can feel a bulge and have to be very careful when lifting, exercising and doing general household chores. I'm now thinking its just something I shall have to live with!
hi Jane Its 1 yr in July since I had my repairs done. I wish to god of not bothered. although specialist had discharged me all he was concerned about was the incontinence. not the pain I'm in. not the pulling near my bowel. I 're visitors him because it felt strange to find out I've got another vaginal prolapse. he said he will do the only operation he can do and that is to sew me up to my hole been with of a pen. don't think so. I've gone into a deep depression. seen my gp and demanded 2nd opinion. still waiting

What was your repair and have you always felt the bulge since the repair ? C
vaginal/bowel/bladder
August will be a year for me and rectecele and cystecele stage 4 repair. Had to go back in for the bladder sling to be loosen about 8 weeks ago. So I had to do recovery twice. But right now, I feel great. The bulge feeling finally went away, I'm ridding a bike, and doing house work. Engergy level is up. Sometimes i do get a poping feeling down there, like a bubble. Don't get that feeling to often now.
I still know when I need to put my feet up, but it takes much longer for it to feel that way. So right at this moment I feel pretty good. But not exactly the same as before anything happen.
Thanks for the positive reply !
Do you do any exercise to keep your repairs strong ? X
I had a posterior (rectocele) repair over a year ago and lead a fairly normal life again. I also now feel a bulge on the front wall and have some bladder urgency off and on. One thing that is important is to not get constipated where there is pressure on the back wall where the repair was done. Also continue to do kegels to build up and strengthen vaginal wall muscles. I went to physical therapy briefly to learn to do them properly. I would suggest that. There are also some YouTube videos you can watch to give some step by step instructions. Hope you are able to get your life back!
Hello
I had a rectocele and a bowel tuck 14 months ago. I do a very physical job and I am really lucky my operation was a total success. I have no problems and am physically fit and back to my normal life. I am back to swimming around 2 miles twice a week (42 minutes for 1 mile) and no issues. I walk and swim the only thing i would love to do again is powerhoop but that is off the cards forever now. as too is heavy lifting, frustrating but neccesary.
Good luck with your recovery, do not over do it, listen to your body and rest when you need to, even if that is for months and months you will get better it takes time and care. you only have one you; look after it and you will be fine.
I took everyones advice on here and now i am reaping the rewards, Hope you will be too.

My posterior repair was a year ago and all good . My worry is having the anterior as I hear so many horror stories x
so happy to hear that someone operation has been a success
There's horror stories with all pelvic floor operations! I would say more so with rectocoele! So much depends on the state inside there at time of surgery & no two would hardly ever be the same. Take that into account & the Surgeons experience & skill (sorry to say) & your repair will never be exactly as the next person. There's many success stories as well. Some (small amount) fail despite the woman doing everything right Post-op.
Haven't really been doing exercise yet, except for walking and biking. Hope to start easying into some. I need a lot of toneing!
I do try to remember to do kegal exercise. Need to be better at it, and do more. Thanks for reminder, needed that!

I'm sane as you had a posterior repair and so far it's holding well.
I have a cystocele left but I'm so worried about repairing it because I read a lot of negative story's x
This is a good question, thanks to bring it up. I've been away for a while but I have to comment on this. I had cystocele and hysterectomy surgery 2 years ago and rectocele op last December. I felt fine after the op but I've been feeling again the dragging feeling and many gas coming in and out of the vagina.I feel very insecure while walking. i do Pf exercises every day. I take care of my body, I'm thin and athletic (cycle, not running) My gyn and my physio say everything is ok but I don't feel great as I thought it was going to be. I'm 47 and thinking that I will have to live like this (or worst with the time) gets me down... I think I feel worse than before the first surgery. Difficult to stay positive... I wonder if all of you ladies feel like after the op the same as before the maternity? My doc told me that I would recover my old vagina but... i have strange feelings down there, most days feeling of buldge, others some pain, gas... next week I have an app with a proctologist cos i feel my anus very low, as if it weren't well supported...
hugs ladies 😘😘
I just wish more of the ladies that are happy with their repairs and have long term success would come forward to give us hope .
I do the Hab it DVD which helps things feel more supported but only if I'm consistent with it .
I'm scared to have my cystocele repaired because I read so much on failure . My rectocele was repaired last January and 16 months out that side of things is great x
That's rubbish that loads fail. A small proportion have failures but most don't. If as many as you're believing fail then why on earth is it a very regularly done operation! Successes mostly have no need to find this sort of forum. My surgeon has done over 1,000 & his failure rate is less than 5%!!!
