Is it safe for me to do intense exercise?

There's a possibility I may have to do a chester treadmill test next week which aims to push your heart to its absolute limit. My HB is currently 80, is it safe for me to attempt the test, other than my low HB im fit and healthy and have completed the test before (with a normal HB).

Should I consult my GP beforehand or will I be fine?

Assuming that HB means heart beat, that is a normal heart beat. That is what mine has been most of my life until very recently when it has gone down to 62 to 65. If you are having the treadmill test for medical reason they would not ask you to do it if they had any doubts

Talk to your GP! I've no idea. Hope all goes well for you.

Sorry by HB I mean haemoglobin

Hi Russell, I wouldn't worry too much, my haemoglobin was 8.3, getting better, I had the heart test due to feeling so tired and breathless, but due to arthritic knees,I had the injection that pushed my heart rate up. Didn't show anything- probably because I was anaemic, not my heart at all. I was fine with the test.

Russell, it's always good practice to question your GP, however, having lower hemoglobin levels doesn't present a problem when exercising. The only issue you may have is that you may fatigue much quicker.
