Hi people, it's worth writing on here because i get the support i need. I have woken up in agony again today, this is unexpected, because my bowel is so sore but i don't want to see a doctor, is it worth trying some Nurofen? This is the only pain relief that works. I feel persistent pain down my left hand side and the right side. Would you see someone? Or would you try some pain relief?

I assume u have had an IBS diagnosis ??

I’d go to the doctor if it was me and get everything checked out. Peace of mind is a great thing.

Try painkillers to relieve your pain; this always works for me. I would only see my doctor if my pain did not respond to pain medication.

Hi to the 3 people who responded to me. I tried to take Fybogel initially, that didn’t work so i ended up at the doctors, no wonder i felt so horrid j have a urinary infection, so i am now on antibiotics because i am allergic to penicillin i have one that will work. Question is i still have right hand side pain, would this be related and thanks for your help, all 3 people. I knew there was something amiss.

yes sam, I have right side abdominal pain from the beginning of my ibs-d.I have it for28 years.I have morning diarrhea for 3 times daily.really it’s a cursed life.

Hey Sam, Hope you are feeling good by now. Do you have diarrhea type or constipation type? As if you take neurofen then it can cause constipation.
Another thing is if you are taking antibiotics then it can cause stomach issues like increase in acidity and sometimes it can cause bloating, gas and accumulation of gas can cause pain.. Hope this might help.

Thanks Jello, i did have 5 days of antibiotics but luckily they’ve all gone now. My stomach feels unsettled today but i am very used to that, my ibs geels unsettled too but i am very stressed. I have had to miss counselling sessions due to ill health. I will be glad when my health problems are determined.

In terms of taking Nurofen i take those rarely and probiotics to combat the effects of the antibiotics. That’s sll i can do.
