Is my medication working?

Hi, I have been dealing with generalized anxiety disorder. I went to see the doctor when I started having panic attacks about 4 weeks ago. I was prescribed zoloft and lorazepam 1mg twice a day. At first I felt better and the panic attacks went away. I started off with Zoloft 50mg and gradually increased to 150mg a week ago. Since I was upped to 150mg everything has been going downhill again. I have trouble eating, my stomach is acting weird and cramping. I have moments in the day where I feel like a zombie. Has anyone experienced this before, do you think the medication is working for me? I see my doctor Monday and I am very confused with what is going on.

Hi arimagg i myself and on Zoloft, and Lorazepam 1mg 3 times a day plus Trazedone for sleep and lamotrigine for moods. My Zoloft is at 25mg to me its keeping my anxieties down but i do have a lot of stomach discomfort i also take famotidine for acid reflux and metformin for diabetes no telling if its the Zoloft or the lorazepam or the trazedone or the lamotrigine or the famotidine or the metformin that gives me the stomach discomfort

I think the medication was working for you when you were down at 50mg because if you are at 150mg and you feel like you are going down hill with not eating then i would ask your doctor to lower it back down to 50mgs

Maybe the 150mgs is way to much for you

Good luck on the medication

When it comes to medication its always best to consult you doctor(which you are doing) because everyone reacts differentely to medecation what works for one does not for another and vice versa

Good Luck

Make sure you are following up with you doctor regularly at least every 3 months when on SSRI's or any psychotropics. It is possibly you are on too high a dose?  If you follow up with your doctor, they could help you find a solution?
