I feel nauseous alot and although I have had stomach/bowel issues and acid, I wonder if its linked to the menopause as i have read your acid increases. Anyone experiencing this? Many thanks
yes hun so have I but I also had my bloods checked as was very dizzy too which shown I was anemic . I'm on lanzoprozole to see if my stomache settles down ? maybe try that first to see if it helps x
Thanks for replying. I am already taking lanzoprozole 20mg (as over the last 6 months I've had bowel inflammation and spasms which have now stopped since giving up wheat and dairy products). I do take an extra one if my nausea gets too bad. But I really want to get off them as I worry about the lack of absorbtion of calcium and magnesium, so have bought a supplement for that too.! I also do wonder if the probiotic I take could cause nausea.
oh dear sounds awful. the prob u do have is some supplements are not good when u are allergic to wheat so check the supplements u are on I'd say hun. but I've had tummy troubles too and I'm new to all this too . x
The ones i take do not contain wheat or dairy. I have not had a diagnosis really; but all i can say is when I gave up the wheat and dairy my painful spasms and tummy ache stopped. I also had a stool test eventually and they found a rare infection which I think may have damaged my intestine, so it could be that the milk and wheat were feeding it and giving it up helped. I also had swelling in my intestines, but not had that for several weeks now. Its just the nausea....if that would stop I would come off the lanzo. I am seeing a dietician in a month and hoping she can help. x
awww it sounds rotton good luck hun x
What are your symptoms? x
god all sorts lol hot flushes. upset tummy. mood swings. headaches. bad neck ache. and heavy irregular periods . I'm about to start fx menopause tabs suggested by Dr Chris steel off this morning. so hopefully they will work for me. how about you ? x
Well mine are all around the tummy and bowel tbh, but as I am 47 next birthday, I wondered if they were linked to the onset of the menopause. My periods are every 23 days and are pretty light - and only last 3/4 days and i have missed just the one last year. x Do you mind if I ask how old you are? x
that's how I started a couple yrs ago but they gone all over the place now. I started with anxiety completely outofthe blue . couldn't go anywhere completely outof character for me. but anxiety can often be mistaken for menopause. I'm 49 just hun x
My anxiety has definitely increased; but I've always been a worrier....I take a low dose of duloxetine for that which takes the edge off. So what exactly has the lanzo been prescribed for? Is that for acid? Do you get reflux and indigestion or just nausea and burping!!! x I just get the latter now. (Since the bug was found and giving up the wheat and dairy). Saying that I can't eat spicy food, that does give me indigestion and have to avoid tomatoes too. On the plus side, I have lost a stone as no cakes, chocolate, pastry, pasta,etc...and I eat gluten and wheat free bread and almond milk. x
me too 're worrying ! lanzoprozole for stomache discomfort with indigestion . feeling better now tho. glad u seem to have found a cure fir your symptoms x
Well apart from the nausea! Christmas may be a bit boring with no puds and cheese though! Glad you are feeling better
yes I bet ? I've no interest in Christmas or much else at the min :-( no motivation x
I agree, stomach issues destroy your social life... didn't drink for several months when it was bad and I far too awkward to invite round now!! But its been better lately and I do drink wine at the weekend although it probably doesn't help, but I cannot give up everything. I do find drinking lots of water helps though too and i have decaf now with my almond milk! Hopefully you'll feel better for Christmas and will start to look forward to it. My son is at uni so its extra special now as he's not at home all year.....and my daughter will be going next year but home on her gap year. I think all this adds to the anxiety too!
menopause destroy ur social life too. I have to force myself to everything at the min. ur obviously get anxious over ur children I'm exactly the same ! x
Oh yes, always have and it has got harder as they have got older because I am less in control! My daughter is 18 and in her gap year and my son is at Uni. Luckily we are all close but my son has learned not to tell me what he is upto until he's done it! I'm dreading my daughter leaving next year as I will be worried about her even leaving the flat!! How old are yours? PS, had a nausea free day today!!! Just need to find out why!!! lol xx
I have 3 older children 29. 26 and 23 then 2 at hone 16 and 13 no wonder I've had anxiety !!!! I'm just as bad as u I've started going to a budhist centre who doubt preach god but help u train yourself positive thinking it's lovely. I'm glad uv had a good day . r u working ? x
Gosh that is quite a lot of children, yes no wonder you're stressed!!! I bet you still worry about the ones who have left!
I work 4 days now, which is lovely, as never really wanted to work full time just sort of happened when the children hit 14 & 16 and needed the extra money for all their activities and lifestyle, and they were getting the bus to school so I was still home at the same time as them. I took 5 years off initially and then went part time 9 until 1 and then 9 until 3. Loved those times dashing around to different clubs and having their friends back for tea, and coffee with the mums! But the job became very stressful as I worked my way up and found my anxiety levels really rose (also had a miscarriage at 40) which started the cycle of panic but that was more situational rather than general worrying which i have. Doing some exercise again which is helping too as used to run alot but my knee gave up on me!
I can relate to all that hun. I had to leave my job last year due to the anxiety which was my first symptom of the menopause !!! I feel I need to work again now only part time but I'm very anxious about it ! x
