Is physical therapy needed after diverticulitis surgery?

A friend just asked me if my doctor has recommended a physical therapy for me after my surgery on July 31. My answer was “not”.

Have you done physical therapy after diverticulitis surgery? Is this something needed in order to heal better?

Hi viola I did physical and occupational therapy for 3 weeks after surgery Twice a week for both I found it to b very helpful They will give you great ideas and confidence on exercise that can help you heal faster

The answer is YES , absolutely.  It’s a shame if you have only relied on your doctor for this answer, since it’s been two months.  Should have started six weeks ago.....as you can see Ellen stated ‘very helpful ‘.  It’s probably the end all, be all , very best kept secret and it’s never too late to start.  Although you haven’t had replies yet, I’ve read hundreds of patients’ comments on here on other posts who have walked and walked and walked every single day, starting at 10 min and finishing at much more time.  As well as their PT etc ❤️❤️❤️
