I have had 4 bartholin cysts in the past, both on my left and right gland. each time, i would be put on antibiotics and do heat compresses and warm baths and each time, the cysts would pop and drain on their own. Currently, I have had a cyst on my right gland for almost 6 months. I have taken baths, i have put heat compresses on it and it does nothing. it has stayed the same size - big - and from time to time it hurts. I went to the gyno and she said the only choice for recovery is to get marsupialization. i've never had a major surgery and reading all of others accounts of the surgery, i am terrified. yet this lump makes me feel so ugly and it is so uncomfortable, i want my vagina back!
are there any other homereadies i can do before submitting to surgery? Is surgery the best answer?
You poor poor thing. My advice to you is get the surgery. It's really not as bad as you think just ask for spinal and you won't feel a thing I am a whimp and I got it done. The pain I had was excruciating as I was nearly full term pregnant but so glad I got it done. It was the worst week of my life having that so I don't know how you have done it for 6 months. Xx
I am trying serrapeptase only for a few days so noticed nothing. Alot of people suggesst silllica. I ordered some off amazon 6.99 for 120 1 a day. There are others but I find it hard enough to remember 1, the others homeopathy ones can be 4 0r so several timed a day. Also on the review on amazon a homeopathic healer suggested to her patient for cost and quality.
It is ment to bring the cyst or abcess to burst and not reocur. Good luck!
Get the surgery. I have had it done and it's really not as bad as you think it will be. I posted my experience, it's a bit further down.. You'll be put under so before you know it, it'll be over and done with. Healing I didn't have much pain at all, and after a week off work to recover, I went back fine (I'm a preschool teacher).
I am now 2 months post surgery & doing good. No reoccurances. Life is good again.
I've had the surgery too, and only after having it 2 weeks. It was pretty large though and it hurt, so I was delighted to get it over with. That was 10 days ago and I'm healing up well, I had very little pain afterwards and I was under general anesthetic so I had no discomfort at all during the procedure. I was given a week of antibiotics afterwards to cover me for any infection.
I too had read lots of accounts of the procedure and was scared silly about it, but it got that bad that I no longer cared and wanted it over with. I was glad I did as I've had a far more comfortable week or so recovering than I did with it.
I feel for you having had so many and for so long, good luck in making your decision.
I can't promise this will work for everyone but i posted a thread of how i keep my cyst down, its been working for a few months now, sometimes it swells a little, but i have managed to get it to nearly non existant (on both sides)
You are not alone my friend. Do not give up.My advice is to you is try a 1week vegetable diet and only drink water lots of water. After the week slowly add back the things you would eat on a regular one item per day.It maybe helpful to start a food journal so you could keep track.Pay particular attention to diary products(cheese, milk, yogurt) and your meat products.Something in your diet maybe the cause of these cyst. For me it was the dairy I cut it out completely from my diet and I've been cyst free! I hope this helps you.Keep the faith* xoxo*
As mine never did anything other than get larger, I couldn't tell you if they go up and down, but from reading extensively it does seem like this can happen.
As someone who had to go to hospital, you just know because it's too painful to ignore it any longer. I was in so much pain I couldn't walk, sit, lie down, everything caused me to whimper. The cyst was very large (the size of an egg) and there was no sign of it changing. I was walking like a cowboy who had been on a large horse for weeks on end!
Where are you based? If you're in the UK, you could go to A&E for them to look and they'll normally get a Gyno to have a look at you or you can ask your doctor to refer you for a second opinion.
You shouldn't have to live endessly being uncomfortable, someone should be able to help.
Thanks I'm in the uk. When I went before I was treated awful I was like you said I agony and very swollen. The Dr proded anpoked was given anti biotic. Not told what it was just he couldn't see the swelling.
2 days later it burst o went back saw someone else who told me it was an abscess from the bartholins.
