Is there a 6 months hitch????

Hi all nearly 6months on citalopram 20mg! But the last week Iv been "off" thoughts back worry anxiety up feeling so tired and cranky! Been grand the last few months some bad days but more good days! I have been very busy three kids husband away from home working and I tend to get anxious at this as I hate being alone at home! PMS also! Just wondering is there months like this?

Thanks Emma x

Sorry you've been feeling lik thy. I was on citalopram for 4 weeks my GP has just stopped in an started me in sertraline, she's also put me on propanol, for physical symptoms.

I had days weeks like you described but they are reducing since starting propanol so hopefully.... But it's still early days.

Maybe you could have a chat with your GP and see what they suggest. It's a horrible illness and seems to go two steps forward one back. Try to think of the good days and be strong your not alone

Thanks so much for your reply! I'm hoping it's just recent stresses! Only been up and down a week or so but will defo ring gp if continues! Defo early days for you but found propranolol helped me also! Good luck hun x

Yes absolutely it's quite common, you do get brick walls to climb over, time and time again.  When you start getting better you'll have many ups and downs, even after months of feeling really great.  I had one a year after I'd been well.  Just let the feeling be there, try not to analyse it, it's just a gliche and it'll pass in it's own time.

So glad to here this kate! Thanks for the reassurance Onwords and upwards defo going to try not to over analysis things I hate that I do that!!

Hope your well xx

It's hard not to analyse though isn't it :-)

Seeing your other post said you think it might be because of recent stresses, I think you're absolutely right.  I know if I've been stressed I'll notice I'll feel slightly different for a few days or a week.  Letting it be there and reassuring myself it's a gliche, I get back on track with daily life and sure enough, that feeling goes away.

Im sure you'll start feeling ok again.  Let us know how it goes, as it's real interesting seeing how it pans out with everyone.

Ha ha kate my life is one big stress!! Finally finished my post grad just awaiting the result of my interview here's hoping! Hubby home tonight! Thanks hun I suppose we can't be sane all the time 😜👍!! Think positively from now on (il try) 😝 xx

Ah, but there's stress, and there's other stresses too.  Some are harmful, some are just everyday ones.  Haha no we can't all be sane all the time - my daughter often tells me I'm the nutty one in the family and that's how she likes it

Something to think of - I've cut out sugar from my diet and it's made a difference too.  Some people are sugar sensitive (as are wheat sensitive) and can feel depressed.  Interesting ...... I feel lighter, in feelings (as well as lbs)

I am sooo addicted to sugar it's unreal! I get so moody when I haven't had any! Typical women I say! Ha ha yeah I'm better crazy too! I really need to think about my diet to be honest! The lbs went on from I started cit! Ha ha yeah I get a lot of stresses but getting through them! Thanks kate and good luck with the zero sugar ✋👏

Emz xx

I agree with you Emz, I have been on Cit 20mg for 5 months and was saying to the wife last week that it felt weird feeling happy. I havent had a panic attack for a few weeks until last night, thought well thats it im going to have a heart attack and not wake up again, SO the good news is I did ! but still have pain in left upper left chest today, so its on my mind that perhaps I am having heart problems. You think that all is good then a set back comes along just to make you realise that you are perhaps not quite well enough yet.

Good luck and keep taking the tablets
