It’s been a week since 30 days of levaquin and I don’t feel much different my doctor persribed me Andy her 2 weeks of levaquin and flomax but I’m wondering if there is a different antibiotic that can help after reading horror stories of the levofoxacin and the other antibiotics like it I feel like I dodged a bullet with the life long damage other people were getting! Is there any other advice for me?? Thank you

Chances are that the culture and sensitivity test that your Uro performed did not identify all of the microbes that are present. These tests are time and temperature sensitive and more often than not come back inconclusive or negative. You might check out Microgendx.com. They use Next Generation DNA sequencing and check for 25,000 different microbes. The test identifies which microbes are present and gives a list of which antibiotics are effective against them. You would have to get your Uro to sign up with the company to be able to get the test results. If you are on Medicare, the test is free. If not, the max out of pocket is $200.
