Is there any cream to apply to my tongue for shingles?

I am a senior citizen.I have shingles on my right lip and right tongue.I have burning pain.I need some medication to reduce my pain.Any help from the group.

I'm assuming as you have a diagnosis of shingles then you are already taking the necessary anti-viral medication? If so and provided you got in early with the treatment then hopefully you will start to feel better soon. I do hope so as I know how painful shingles can be especially in the beginning.

I have shingles for more than one year. I took anti-viral medication.It has not helped.

I am taking Gabapantin daily 300 mg two times. It makes me drowsy. Is there any cream to put on lip and

tongue? Please help.

As I'm not a medic, I'm sorry I'm unable to help with further advice. Your GP should be the best person to contact. Have you looked at the Shingles section on the Patient Experience site - click on 'Conditions S' int the right hand column of the home page. This will bring up a list of conditions starting with 'S'; scroll down and click on 'Shingles' where you will find other people with similar problems to yourself. Good luck.
