hi i was recently diagnosed with hsv2 in august after having my first outbreak. this was on the shaft of the penis where ulcers developed with a severe itch. well yesterday a circular red mark appeared on the head which isnt raised or ulcerated. it basically looks like a circular red mark. as i am still managing this condition i am wondering if this is the 2nd outbreak but its in a different area. it doesnt itch at the moment. i will try and get a picture to add later. i have taken an antiviral as a precaution and will attend a clinic should this fail
It’s possible it could be an outbreak, but i cant tell you for sure. Sometimes it takes some time to turn into a full outbreak but if you catch it early enough and take antivirals then you can stop it. I’d recommend you take more than just one anti-viral. My doc recommends 2 valtrex for each day until it is gone, usually 3 days for me and 12 hours apart each dose.
thanks i am taking 3 per day for 5 days. i will see if it clears up. if not its a trip to the doctor
