Is this a panic attack? Please help!

So lately I've been getting this weird feeling like all of a sudden I get this overwhelming feeling come over me like something bad is about to happen to me, it lasts like 1-2 seconds & then all of a sudden my heart starts racing, I feel panicked and even a little dizzy. Once that passes which only lasts a few mins I can't shake the feeling of being really nervous b/c I feel like something is gonna happen to me like pass out etc, I bite my nails (I use to have beautiful long nails &#128532 and my ears and head get really hot.

I recently went to a neurologist to see what was going on he said they could maybe be partial seizures so I go Tuesday for an EEG and Thursday for an MRI, but he said honestly in his opinion he feels that they are panic attacks. He put me on some anxiety medication, only 0.5 mg and I cut the pill and take half in the morning and half at night.

Does anyone who suffers from panic attacks think this is what their panic attacks sound like? I am under a lot of stress I guess. I have 3 kids ages 5, 2 and the LO (little one) will be 1 next month, I'm a stay at home mom and mainly deal with the kids all day b/c my hubby works and has school & I don't really do much or have time to do things I like outside of the house. I love my kids more than anything but it definitely is overwhelming. If they are panic attacks they never seem to happen in the middle of all the stress and chaos, it's more so once I finally am relaxing or driving or even getting ready for bed. Any input on this?Thanks for letting me vent. I also wanted to add that sometimes I get strange symptoms like the center of my forehead will feel tingly/hot, sometimes my eye will start twitching, enough for me to feel it but not enough for others to see it. Thanks again!

Also, just wanted to add i'll get head chills a lot too which is strange I know lol

Sounds like panic attacks to me. I have all the symptoms you described and more. Weird adrenaline rushes through my body, brain zaps,dizziness, heart flops and thuds, numbness and tingling in arms,legs and body, tremors, weakness in legs,sense of doom, feeling like I'm going to die etc. The symptoms do not all come at the same time and no two attacks are ever the same. It's so hard to describe to my Dr. because they are all over the place. This has been happening to me for just a little over a year now. I take 100 mg Zoloft daily and .5mg Ativan as needed. I also am seeing a therapist to help figure out why I am having these episodes. Mine also happen out of the blue when I think things are going good or I'm not feeling stressed. Google uncued panic attacks. I do notice that they happen more often if I am tired.

Hi..My name is Samantha and Just saw this reply you posted for Jenn. I have a question for you how do your brain zaps feel I'm trying to figure out if it's the samething I'm having. I get lightheaded and then i feel like a rush like someone shakes my brain from the inside. Is that how yours feel??

Hi Samantha, I usually don't get lightheaded with it but it just feels like when you're cold and you get goosebumps on your arms, well instead of my arms I get those same goosebumps on my head. It's really strange & I don't usually have a panic attack with them, it'll just kinda happen randomly. I am taking some anxiety medication, 0.5 mg and even that I cut the pill in half and take half in the morning and half at night so I'm not sure if it can be due to the medication or not but I also read somewhere that it can be a symptom on anxiety. They actually called it brain shivers

Oh ok I see. My symptoms are different I hate it they scare me. I feel like I'll never get better.

HI Jenn

In my opinion it sounds like your having panic attacks. A lot of the times it feels like your about to have a heart attack, you feel so lost and out of control. My anxieties started almost nine years ago and they are nothing nice! Most attacks do last no more then ten minutes, but it feels like once that ten minutes is over , here comes another. Talking about it really does help if you ever wanna talk one on one just inbox me, I'll be more than happy to talk ya through stuff !

Hey jenn its is panic attrack that is happening to you, you are feeling like something is bad happening to you and you are not being able to claim your self. my advice to you is always think positive thinks will be happen on my life and the most is that always laugh at the difficult situation(i.e laught at our self why i am thinking this small things constantly) i am sure you will be able to claim yourself because as laughing helps to control the blood presure and your heart palpitation reduces.

wish you good health.

Mine feel like shorts bursts of electricity. Kinda like when you shuffle your feet and then touch something and get that static shock.....just like that but inside your brain. I do get lightheaded sometimes and also feel like someone turned on an oven and heat runs up my neck and into my head. They symptoms of anexity are so baffling. I hope you feel better!

Hi jenn. Just saw your post. The feeling you described, like goosebumps on arms but on your head, have also experienced this, above forehead , top of head as if under scalp. I was told it was a symptom of anxiety to do with being hyper sensitive, something to do with nerve endings and we zone in on every little thing, apparently harmless. Maybe ask doctor if ever seen this before to put your mind at rest. Some people also describe a feeling as though little insects are crawling under scalp? Sounds similar❤️

Hi, thank you for commenting, I feel a little relieved knowing that I'm not alone with the goosebumps in the scalp feeling. I was asking everyone around me if they have ever experienced this and all I would hear is no. Glad to hear that it is just related to anxiety.

hey jenn;

good to hear about  improvement on your health as I told earlier you have to think your are not alone, always thinks positive thought. I am sure  you will be back to normal life soon.

wishing you good health
