hello so i had my first outbreak about 3 months ago! i had a second outbreak about a month / month and a half later with ulcers inside my vagina and 2 big open sores between my vagina and anus. i then had a intense course of antiviral to get rid of the outbreak and have been taking vaclovir 500mg daily for over a month for supressive therapy. im finding it hard to tell which is a herpes sore and which isnt. sometimes ill get these cute after shaving which im not sure if i have now? can anybody tell me if this is a cut from shaving which i shaved about a week ago so its been here for a week or is it a herpes sore? i believe my skin around my vagina is thin as its white and patchy!
Shaving is so irritating and any kind if trauma (cuts, ingrown hairs) can cause an outbreak. I strongly recommend just trimming instead of shaving. Witch hazel is very soothing and helps dry sores out. I also recommend working on your immune system. Eat healthy, take vitamins, and get some sunlight! Your body needs to build antibodies for herpes. I’m sure the antivirals help some people but I only took them for the first outbreak and during the last few weeks of pregnancy as a precaution. I only have an outbreak once every few months and they’re very mild when i do have them.
