Starting a month ago, I have been getting these weird tongue lesions. I thought it was from an overuse of chewable vitamin C, but I stopped using them and am still getting these lesions. They look like Geographic tongue, but they aren't in the same form. Normally they are just a red line on my tongue with a white raised side. It isn't painful, feels just like a canker sore. They go away after like five days, but eventually they come back. I noticed whenever I eat anything acidic, it will pop up. Could it be a reaction to my toothpaste? A change in my body? Vitamin deficiency? I'm at a loss.
Hi Lauren: I use to get little bumps on the roof of my mouth when my stomach produced too much acid and it would come up into my throat. i used to have stomach ulcers and the acid builup was incredible. After killing the bacteria that causes ulcers they never came back. Do you have stomach issues and why do you take so much vitamin C? you can get plenty from eating in fact one red pepper raw will provide all the C you require daily.
I have been having frequent heartburn, and have noticed changes in my stool. I was taking one chewable tablet of vitamin C a day just to support my immyne system so I don't get sick this flu season. I have stopped, but am still getting these tongue sores. Could it be from acid reflux?
i would first ask your doctor to test you for H. Pylori which is the bacteria which causes ulcers. i would have heartburn everytime i ate something. if it is negative then possibly you may be looking at acid reflux. although i've never really known what that is. my doctor told me i had it and could not have been more wrong. i was on Nexium for years until i had a fit ( i was so bloated i could no longer get into any of my clothes) in his office and we did xrays to discover i had a huge ulcer.
