Is this a wart on my palm?

I've had this on my palm for many years (at least 5) and its been treated like a wart though it didn't do anything to it (i had warts on my feet and my thumb and this treatment got rid of them but not this). I've tried filing it down but it grew back to the size it was before, idk what it is

Does it itch?
Does it feel smooth or rough?
Does it hurt when you press on it?

its not itchy, it feels pretty smooth but if i press on it with my nail it hurts

I wonder if this has been caused by some foreign body entering your hand and the tissues have formed this protective shield around it. I had a lump like this on my hand and my doctor sliced it open and found it contained a rose thorn,although I couldnt remember it going in.Maybe a tiny splinter of wood or metal? or even a piece of glass? You probably wont remember the occasion as it was 5 years ago. If it bothers you, can you get your doctor to do a tiny procedure and cut it open to remove whatever is in there, with local anaesthetic of course.
