I'm 20 years old and I had anxiety sense I was 14.i was doing good for awhile but now I just been having a rough couple of weeks.i been to the ER about 5 times in the last month for headache/pressure on one side then the other side. They took blood work 3 times and ct scan of my hand the also did a X-ray of chest and neck. They finally referred me to a neurologist that did a few test like hearing and looking in my eyes.He asked if I was stressed and sayed it could be that.My symptoms have been Tingling in arms, head pressure/dull pain feeling like tingling on face ,sweaty hands, feeling like there is something on the side of my eye, muscle spasms,Neck pain, back pain,Shoulder pain,a lot of pimples on face, lack of sleep, heavy feeling under rib, floaters,GERD,Irritibal skin, arms falling asleep fast.So many symptoms i can't keep track.i have started taking lexapro 10 mg like 5 days ago again.i feel like in my mind like I'm losing it like I'm going to go crazy.I feel like I have some kind of deadly disease and no one listens to me.im so young and feel like I'm a old man with so many aches and pain.i google my symptoms looking for answers but it just makes things worse.im tired of waking up and feeling like this.one minute I'm happy then I get a pain then I'm angry and sad.if anyone wants to talk that has anxiety or the same symptoms private message or reply.
Hello Matt.
Yes having tingling sensations in hands or arms and neck shoulder pain are all connected with anxiety, it is not a deadly disease but if left without psychological help then feelings will get worse.
If you visit your GP / Doctor they can help and will make you an appointment with the “Well Being” service and you can also be referred to a counsellor.
I know it is scary and daunting to seek help and of course there is a stigma attached to mental health, most people out there do not like to talk about it and so it is all too easy for others to brush aside and quickly change the subject , they do not have time or really want to deal with people like me and you regarding our complex mental health issues.
It is not easy to make the first step to get help but it is worth doing and you are not alone with this problem, the best therapy i have found for mental health issues is to talk about it with others that know what you are going through , this is the most important step you can take to break the cycle of anxiety and depression from my experience over the last two years.
Hope this helps you further , Neil.
Hey Matt.
Sorry to hear what you are going through..
I don't know if I can help you but what you are experiencing is what I am experiencing too.
The best thing to do -and the hardest- is to say to yourself that " I am not in danger ". I know, it's nearly impossible to think that while having an attack but please try it. It's the best thing you can do for yourself.
I have dizziness 24/7 due to anxiety. For 2 years I tried to convince people that there MUST be something wrong, but after a ton of tests and MRIs I had to accept that it's all anxiety.
In my case, when I accepted that, it got better but of course another symptom appeared and so on...
Hang in there, you are not alone and you are not in danger.
Contact me if you need anything.
Mike
Matt anxiety is nothing to be ashamed of,so many visits to doctors are related to anxiety. It helps to tell people if something is bothering you, dont keep it in,this will help lower your anxiety, in this day and age it is so common. Sometimes it takes awhile to get the right dose or med ,so give it time,if the med they give you, should you choose to do so isnt working,be honest and they will tweek the dose til the right dose etc works for you. I have anxiety, have had it for years,im on an anxiety med, have been for several years,it helps me to function. And dont worry about anyone knowing you are on a med, half the people I know are on one. Hope you feel better soon.
Sound definitely like health anxiety. I have it too.
