i am a huge hypochondriac. ive diasgnosed myself with several diseases. However, for the past fee months ive been super SUPER worried about my heart. I have all of the symptoms of heart disease.. rib pain, cramping, shallow breathing, chest pain, pain inside, jaw pain, back pain... you name it. recently, ive been getting this feeling like im going to black out or collapse, but i never do. i also get super nauseous. it feels like my heart rate is slower, but i never really measured it before.. however it IS a steady 80bpm when i check it. ive also started new meds so that COULD be a reason for my nausea and dizziness.. but my mind thinks the worst. In february of this year, i had two echos, three ekgs, chest xray, AND blood work all came back normal. my cardiologist told me im healthy, and my heart will be fine until MAYBE my 60s. but this was before these symptoms started. i go to the cardio this month for my yearly and im so so worried. im only 15, never smoked or drank, and have a crappy diet. could all of this be anxiety and med side effects???
have the doctors done xrays of your chest?
Hi Shelby
All the symptoms you describe are typical anxiety symptoms. You’ve had your heart checked out and it’s fine, that’s great news.
If you are new to anxiety meds you are also probably getting side effects. Sometimes when starting an anxiety med, your anxiety will get worse before it gets better. They can take between several weeks to months even before they kick in fully. Hang in there.![]()
Hi
Go thought the I s information inside the package of medication. Go through it. They normally state sides effect… Medication.
I had similar heart worries when my anxiety started like it was gonna stop. Cardiologist found some minor problems but said it was healthy for the most part. Ever since then I haven’t had the same symptoms cause it was just in my head due to the anxiety.
yes, in february. but that was before the symptoms started
