I've had this single large firm bump on the base of my shaft for at least 3 or 4 days now. Before then I've been visually examining the area for weeks now and there was nothing like this. A couple of hours before it appeared, there was nothing in the area, I get home take a shower and I see this massive bump has appeared. when i took a closer look there was a small hole in the middle and it looked as if a pubic hair was plucked out. For the most part I don't notice it, but if I put pressure on it and touch it there is slight discomfort and slight pain but nothing serious. Before the bump appeared, I had been putting cocoa butter and this Lotrimin antifungal cream all over my entire genital area because the area was dry and I had suspected some sort of fungus because the tip of penis skin had been peeling off. since I've done this, the peeling has has stopped, but now this. I did have sex 7-10 days before the bump appeared, but i wore condom the entire time. yesterday I went up to a center that provides free STD testing for most things except herpes. a doctor examined me because I thought maybe it was syphilis but he said it was unlikely. His first guess was it was folliculitis or an ingrown hair. The 2nd was herpes. He told me to try applying some antibiotic ointment to the area, so I brought some Neosporin and that seems to completely alleviate all the discomfort and slight pain in the area when I apply pressure on the bump. No pus has leaked out either, and when I tried to squeeze it to see if something would ooze out, nothing did. Could this be folliculitis, herpes or something else?
