Hey everyone, I am really concerned and scared am planning to go doctors for this. I had unprotected sex with a guy for the first time 4 days ago
The following day I started feeling a painful rash around my genital region, usually I get this from ingrown hairs after shaving, so I wasn't too concerned to begin with.
The next day it was even more sore and uncomfortable and I also woke up with an extremely inflamed red and puss-filled tonsil which looks like a tonsil infection (something I have regularly had in the past so I just assumed I was run down).
I have now developed flu-like symptoms (constantly feeling aches and cold flushes all over my body) (but no coughing). Today I did some research into my symptoms and found a lot of similarities between what I'm dealing with and the herpes virus.
I'm feeling really scared and ashamed that this has happened. Any insight into what I may have contracted would be greatly appreciated.

i know it doesnt make you feel much better, and its very hard to first process (trust me i just found out too). but sooooo many people have it. just nobody talks about it. the out breaks will get way less severe and less frequent. im so sorry you are going through this
Your photo actually doesn’t look like herpes, but as a really bad folliculitis, caused by a razor burn.
