Over the last while after my period, my vaginal area becomes quite sore. I thought it was due to irritation caused by tampons. However, this time around i have painful sores inside the wall of my vagina, which are extremely painful when i urinate. I also have an intense itch down there along with foul smelling discharge. My doctor did not do a swab, believing it to be fungal infection. Does this look like herpes?
Any help would be so appreciated. I am so worried that it is.
It look like an irritation as well as a yeast. I do not think it look like herpes

Doctor prescribed an ointment with a steroid in it as well as a once off tablet for a fungal infection. 3 days later all is cleared up. Still a little red but irritation has gone and no pain when urinating. Treated as a yeast infection but will be going for a swab if this recurs.
hmm your doctor could have done a swab even to prove it was fungal. I don’t think it’s herpes but you could always get a herpes test done if you are worried.
