Noticed redness on penis several days ago. I took valtrax 2 days ago just being paranoid but it has gotten no better or worse. It is not sore or does not burn or itch. It just feels like a tightness on the penis foreskin.
Not everything is herpes. Could be an irritation or a case of balanitis. If you are concerned that it could be herpes, you can get the irritated area pcr swabbed (not viral culture, as you don't have any lesions).
Just curious, how did you take (obtain) Valtrex without previously being diagnosed with herpes. Did you take your partners or something?
You can buy it without a prescription in some places, possibly online, too.

Herpes can present in many ways, which makes it difficult to say for sure. Certainly not the classic presentation, as it appears primarily rashy, no lesions. I can see white dots along the base of the head, but am not sure if they're usually there (men can get pearly whatsits - forget the exact name). If those are new, then I might be a little more concerned. If you have not had sex or received oral sex within the last week (2 weeks max), then I would worry less.
