is this hashimotos or hyperthyroidismPosted 27 minutes ago

Hi. So heres what I know. I have not felt my true self in some years now. I am hoping someone can advise me wether or not im sick or just a hypochondriac. Symptoms are extreme fatigue. I can get through work but am always fighting my eyelids from closing. When I get home it feels like I cant do anything without taking a nap and if I do im out for the night. My head starts to feel very warm like when you get a fever. My bowels are in chaos. Diarrhea, bloating, gas, all constant.it is normal to have a bowel movement at least 7 times a day. Usually more than that tho I hardly have a memory, I cant concentrate. I get nervous in conversation because its hard to follow what anybody is saying. Latley I have had some vision problems. I get caught in these deep stares and really have to shake back into focus. Almost a crosseyed feeling. I get anxious and jittery feeling which is way out of the norm for me. Also ive constant bouts with deep cystic acne. Brain fog! No libido at all! Impotent. Have nt had a sex life in years. Hard to gain weight but always hungry and am always eating. I keep a pretty healthy diet and do exercise only bcause it seems to temporarily help with energy afterwards. Also my mom has graves disease. I greatly appreciate any advice. Thank you

Hi , have you been to see your doctor about this? My son had all of the symptoms you are talking about but no one took him seriously , please go to your doctor and get them to run blood tests , keep nagging at them until you get something done  , I can not stress enough , this is my advise to you ,

Hi smozilla! I think you really need to get this checked out.  It could be any of the things you have mentioned.  I have hashimotos and experience hyper episodes, but not as badly as you seem to, though I am on levothyroxine which helps some.  Graves and Hashimotos are immune diseases, which I'm sure you know with your mom having graves.  I don't think you are a hypochondriac at all. My advice is - go and see your GP as soon as possible and get some help. Don't let this situation continue. Best wishes.....

You can test for Hashimotos with a blood test.  When you have it you will make antibodies against your thyroid. If the doctors look for those antibodies they can easy find out if you have them. Hashimotos is an autoimmune disease. Autoimmune diseases frequently have a symptom of brain fog. The strange thing about hashimotos though is that you can have the disease but your thyroid can be perfectly fine. It just depends on how well It responds to the antibody attack. Another thing to check for would be other autoimmune diseases.. For some reason, many people have more than one.
